How to Transfer Data between Windows 8 and Windows 7


You have installed Windows 8 on a new computer when all of the data stored on your PC to install Windows 7 or vice versa? Your job is how to set up access to the data on the computer to install Windows 7 from a computer running Windows 8, and vice versa.

In the Permissions dialog box, you will see all the list of group or user names on the system. If you want to name any users or groups have access to this directory from the Windows 8 PC then leave, if you click on the account name and click the Remove button to remove from the list.

Permissions Framework for Every One copy you access and use the settings folder from Windows 8 to allow (Allow) read, change, or not allow (Deny). Then click the OK button.

But if you want to add any user name in addition to the above list have access to this folder from your Windows 8 computer, click the Add ... button 

On the Select Users or Groups dialog box, type the user name in the Enter the object names to select, and then click the Check Names button.

Immediately the account name you are looking for will show up in the list, click the OK button .

Now you will see the user name in the Group or user names list. Click the user account name and click Full Control in the Allow column option to enable that account has full access with the ability to read, write and change the contents of the shared folder. Then click OK.

Return to the Advanced Sharing dialog box; click the OK button to close the dialog box.

Then click the Close button to close the Properties dialog box of the folder.

Before new shared folder on the Windows 7 computer, you need to know the IP address of the computer or the computer name. To check the IP address of your Windows computer, you access the Start menu and type cmd to activate the command line.

From the command line window, type ipconfig / all

You will see a list of connected display. Look at the list and find the correct IP address for the appropriate adapter you use. Example in the figure below, the Windows 8 PC is connected to the same wireless network with Windows 7, you will find the IP address that you need to use in the Default Gateway under Wireless LAN adapter.

To check the name of the Windows 7 computer, you access the Start menu, then right-click Computer and select Properties.  

Your computer will display the name in the Computer name under the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings.

Note: You need to record the name and IP address of the computer to install Windows 7, just in case the computer name does not work.

Once you have the IP address and name of the computer to install Windows 7 on your computer to install Windows 8, click select Desktop on Start title Screen. 

Then click on the Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar. 

In the Explorer window, right-click on Network and select Map Network Drive...

Enter username and password for the Windows 7 computer. Click on the option Remember my credentials to log in to the shared folder on the Windows 7 computer automatically the next time and press OK to access.

In Explorer, you can see a notification bar recovery function network file sharing is turned off (Network discovery and file sharing are turner off ...), simply left-click the message and select Turn on network discovery and file sharing to enable this feature. 

A dialog box appears asking whether you want to enable this feature for all public networks? You click select No, make the network that I am.... to just turn on the network and share files in a network of private individuals in order to ensure security.

Now you will see your computer's shared folder to install Windows 7 on a system running Windows 8 and show up as a drive.
