iPhone 5 wireless update to iOS 6.0.1


To update the iPhone 5 to iOS 6.0.1 using wireless update method, the user needs to perform a few more steps than the conventional process.
 

Apple has just released the first update for iOS 6 - iOS 6.0.1 - software to fix some bugs and improve performance. iOS 6.0.1 update allows wireless (Over-the-Air OTA) or through iTunes. For users of the iPhone 5, the OTA update method will be interrupted due to a software error. Here are the steps to fix it:

Step 1:

To start the iPhone 5 on iOS 6.0.1 update, open the Settings application, click on the "General" tab, select "Software Update", will pop up as below:


Step 2: 

Click on the "Learn More" to begin the process of troubleshooting to block iPhone 5 be updated wirelessly.

Step 3: 

Click on "Download and Install" to download and install the application "iOS Updater":


Step 4:

An application icon "iOS Updater" will appear on the device. However, before you click to open the application, you may need to restart the phone:


Step 5:

Once the phone has rebooted, click on the icon "IOS Updater", select "OK" button in the dialog box. IOS update process will continue as usual:

Of course, you can also choose to update the iPhone 5 to 6.0.1 via iTunes.
