Acer will not release the ARM-tablets based on Windows 8

One of the world's largest computer manufacturers Acer criticized Windows operating system RT 8 , intended to be used in tandem with the processors in the architecture of ARM. The new software platform designed for low-power mobile devices, whose popularity is growing rapidly. However, Acer is not going to be used in tablets and its lineup of smartphones tandem of ARM-chip and Windows 8 RT. According to Acer chairman speaking to reporters at Computex 2012, the company's engineers told him that the 64-bit ARM architecture is still far from perfect and can not provide the required level of performance for mobile electronics. "Architecture of ARM is a new, young and attractive, but above it all to work for some time," - said the representative of Acer.
Also he said that Acer will support the operating system, Windows 8, but the hardware-based devices will be based on x86-chips from Intel.
At Computex  2012 Acer showed the tablets based on Windows 8 and the Ivy Bridge. However, they can become competitive, it remains to be seen. The fact that these devices will cost about $ 1,000, while similar models from HP and other  vendors that have expressed a preference for ARM, cost about $ 600.
