Everything has already been purchased and installed on your "Poppy" Mountain Lion? I think not. Among those who have not yet been updated and are still waiting for it is not clear what, I am. Yesterday was marked by not only updating the operating system OS X, but also a number of software updates.
The concept of working with applications in iOS and OS X are similar. In both systems, when leaving a newer version of OS support for the previous iteration continues for a long time. I'm talking primarily about the software and its developers are developing. Now in the App Store is still possible to find applications that work with the iPhone OS 3, and on OS X still has a program running Leopard or even Tiger (2005).
This approach is certainly correct; however using it for its own selfish purposes, as does Apple, I think is inexcusable.
Let me remind you that immediately after the appearance in Mac App Store a new version of OS X, Software Update has informed all the users have not updated the availability of several updates to the Lion. In most cases, the update list consists of an updated version of iWork (Pages, Numbers and Keynote), a new, sixth version of Safari for Lion and an application to remotely control your computer Remote Desktop.
I do not know how Apple is investing in these new versions of applications, the word "update", but this is nothing more than a step back. Immediately after the upgrade I ran as usual, the most used on my "Poppy» Safari and Pages, and was unpleasantly surprised by what he saw: Pages at once and gave up just simply flew, and Safari hung in front of my face iridescent dial and stopped responding. Activity Monitor reported that six brand-new Safari "not responding".
The situation was urgent and the next day, that is, today, right now only on Safari, Pages earned as flawlessly (the text is written in it).
Another question for Apple in whether there is a critical need to provide the user no longer relevant (roughly speaking) version of the operating system software, which has a limited functionality, software that exists in the more advanced and functional version than the one that gets the user remaining at the Lion? Well, not Apple-way away! It's like a cheese sandwich, but without the sausage - like and eats, and the body needs meat. Why Apple does today with Safari as it does it with iWork '09 or iLife '09? Programs of both packages is outdated, but still maintained the company, because not all users can afford to upgrade applications, valued at $ 15 each, and therefore decide to stay on the previous versions.
In the case of Safari, we obtain the stub of the sixth version of the browser, deprived of the basic functional-date applications, outrageously glyuchaschy, but still bearing the proud name of Safari 6. I do not know about you, but I prefer to stay at the Safari 5 (not yet updated on the Mountain lion), which will be deprived of even a modest fraction of the updates that Apple introduced in Safari 6 for Lion, but I will not be distracted from working on the regular brakes and Internet Explorer hangs.
Is Apple tends thus to make more money, forcing me to try to get away from the buggy software, purchase a new version of OS X? Or maybe the company are important, not money, and time at which the greatest number of users will move to a new version of the operating system, so that later on the event in late October to inform everyone about what they are good fellows, and how users liked the new OS X? More questions than answers.
