Manually Install Android 4.1.1 on Samsung Galaxy Nexus



Do you have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and do not want to wait for the official update to switch to Android 4.1.1? Thanks to the simple guide that we translated to the latest version of Android will be even easier.

1. Make sure you have firmware JRN84D
2. Download the firmware JRO03C
3. Copy the file to the root of your phone (via microUSB cable)
4. Install ClockworkMod Recovery (unless you want to install read below)
5. Reboot into recovery mode
6. Select Install from sdcard zip
7. Select the file you just copied.
8. Reboot

If you do not want to install ClockworkMod not to lose the warranty, download the SDK and make sure that in your platform-tools is present fast boot.

1. Download the ClockworkMod Recovery
2. Copy it in your platform-tools of your SDK
3. Open a terminal and navigate to that folder
4. Enter,
    Windows: fastboot boot recovery-windows.exe-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro.img
     Mac, Linux: fastboot boot recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro.img
5. Continue with the previous guide with step 6
