Hybrid tablets by Asus


Is it a tablet or a laptop? The distinction is completely lost at the IFA fair in Berlin this week. Asus Wednesday was the first to be Windows 8 hybrids to imagine.


Windows 8 will not be officially launched next month, but the manufacturers demonstrate in Berlin their first aircraft, Similarly Asus. The company showed as expected a number of new variants of its popular Transformer tablet. It is a whole series. The entry-level model, the Vivo Tab RT will probably cost around 699 euros when it is available in October, at the launch of Windows 8.

It is a 10.1 inch tablet with Windows RT, the more limited version of Windows 8 for ARM-based chips. This device resembles most of the Android-based Transformers, although it is striking that he so what will be more expensive.

The big brother is simply the Vivo Tab, with a "full" Windows 8 and a 11.6-inch screen. Who still not content with the fact, will be able to grab the Transformer Book, with a heavy Intel Core i7 chip and screens from 11.6 to 14 inches. Of these devices is no price announced.

Besides that Asus Transformer variants showed two other hybrids. One is a laptop with a touchscreen - a concept that we will see more this week. The other is a maverick: the Asus Taichi has two displays, one inside and one outside. This device can be used in three ways: as a regular laptop, and tablet and both displays simultaneously.
