For years, compatible with iOS
web version of Google Maps was a mere adjunct to the standard application on the
Springboard. It could not be further developed, not optimized, not add to it
new opportunities - simply because all to use a separate program. Suddenly the
will Apple site maps.google.com is the main stronghold of mapping services on
Google iOS. Of course, there is Google Earth from the App Store, but, as we
have repeatedly pointed out, the latter is only available from the U.S. Apple
ID.
Site occupies the position of
leader, because in Mountain View once bustling and prepared for him a piece of
functional Maps of iOS 5 Street View.
So someone as Walt Mossberg in
such cases can be trusted without looking back. The other day Walt recorded
7-minute clip from an educational program on the situation with the Cards. In
particular he mentioned about Street View:
In fact, on Thursday, Google
plans to announce that it adds Maps Removed from Apple and, moreover, the
popular Street View features in the web version of Google Maps for the iPhone
and iPad. Google sent me a few test links, so I tested this add-on that allows
you to view panoramic pictures of streets and a number of enterprises. Links
worked quite well, and I was able to explore some places, "looking"
with gesture.
Last week, New York Times
columnist David Pogue reported the same thing, only he had said about the
public launch in two weeks. Street View on the site will add an incentive to
wait for full release Maps for iOS 6. The latter should get closer to the New
Year holidays.
