Glass is not always flexible or so we thought, but today proves Corning Glass Willow with her new glass that can be really flexible.
Namely Corning today announced its new flexible glass called Willow Glass. Willow Glass is designed for flexible displays and like this just so the glass can be curved.Willow Glass is extremely thin and can be used for LCD and OLED displays. The great advantage of this is, inter alia, that it will ensure that the weight and thickness of the future smart phones so even further it can be brought back. It is notable that, despite also that the glass is very thin that it is still the same strength and abrasion resistance as the well-known Gorilla glass.
Corning indicates the end of this year already possible to begin production of the new Willow Glass. The first samples would already have been sent to various manufacturers, unfortunately, is not yet known which manufacturer they are.
