Non-profit organization Mozilla has recently unveiled a prototype of a mobile Web browser for the iPad, known as "Junior". With it, the creators of Fire fox expect to oust the "native" web browser for iOS - Safari. "With the junior surfing the web on the iPad will be even more fun and comfortable" - promises to Mozilla.
"We wanted to create something new and decided to reinvent the browser for the tablet," - said at the presentation of one of the developers Junior Firefox Alex Limi (Alex Limi). During the demonstration the authors Junior showed the main features of the new browser. First of all, it will occupy the entire screen and the iPad will be deprived of the usual tabs and a search box at the top of the page. In addition, the developers decided to limit to simplify the user interface - it consists of only two buttons located on each side. One of them (the one on the left) - is the button to return to the previous page. The second (right) - the button with the "plus", which when clicked opens a menu containing a list of your favorite Web sites, the last public address, as well as the search string and the input URL.
Junior- not the first attempt to create a competitor to Apple Safari. For example, his version of a web browser for iPad - Axis - provided Yahoo.Among other alternatives Safari browsers, such as Atomic, Dolphin, Opera Mini and Sky fire. However, none of them has such a potential and a huge user base, like Mozilla Fire fox, the market share in the segment of the web browser is 20.2%.
About when will release Junior, the developers have not yet been reported.
