How Did Danny Boyle Created The Spectacular Effects of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games

Two of the most magical moments of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games to freeze millions of viewers around the world were the transformation of the stadium of the Olympic Stadium in a huge round big screen and the projection map of London on the floor of the arena. But how is Danny Boyle managed to create this spectacular effect?

Giant Screen Stands

At each position in the Olympic Stadium grandstand placed a small paddle (total 70,500 paddles) which contained 9 lights
The lights could visualize any color, allowing organizers to create stunning images as if they were pixels on a TV screen
The system took 370 km cable to each unit to be connected to the server
Something similar will see the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games and the organizers promise that it will be truly magical

Map of London

The idea belongs to teammate Danny Boyle and came seeing this map in a book
The map was originally developed by researchers at University College London (UCL) to determine where to put new roads and parks of London
Based on mathematical analysis of algorithms and how to use each street of the city
