Slices is a classic application that will make you cry: wow! The reasons are simple: the idea is original and the graphics are really cured. Unfortunately for OneLouder Apps is not enough to pick up their new creation the Olympus of the applications and the reason I'll explain soon.
The key difference with a classical client about the possibility of creating precisely the slices to divide your following in subcategories to make them easily accessible and perhaps merge accounts that speak more or less the same things. Sound familiar? Even to us. All this recalls the existing and often underutilized, lists, so basically the developers have changed their name to a function that already existed. One merit, however, we must give it to him: the fact of having left our slices, easily accessible unlike the lists that are often lost and forgotten, makes the function much more useful and usable than before.
Slices Of course also include the classic columns for the timeline, mentions and direct messages but lack of intuitiveness. Let's take an example. If you open Twitter for Android, the official app, to move between these three cards you just plug icon at the top. Quick and easy, If you are in Slices of timeline and want to switch to DM, the tap on the icon will pop up a kind of uncomfortable, but to see everything in a classical way, we should open the sidebar containing the slice and select Messages. In short, the developers have forgotten to make an app that was particularly easy and intuitive.
Set aside these criticisms, Slices application remains to be proved and a beginning for the development of software capable of fully exploiting the potential of Twitter. Also the app recognize the merit of having introduced the function Explore to find new people to follow your own interests, not to mention the excellent graphics Holo-style that marks a turning point now than now antiquated TweetCaster. Well, maybe not exactly what we expected and the improvements to be done are many, especially to reach the fluidity and intuitiveness that the Twitter-addicted expect, but the idea is certainly interesting, and the app is used with pleasure.
