In 2013, more than half of all phones sold are smartphones. IHS iSuppli predicts that research. By 2016 that figure will rise worldwide up to two thirds of the total phone sales.
ISuppli Research shows that 54 percent of all phones will be smartphones by 2013. That is two years faster than they had originally anticipated.
According reseacher Wayne Lam has to do with lower prices and a wider range of devices: "Cheaper smartphones sell well in Asia, and super mart phones and devices in the middle do particularly well in Europe and the United States."
By 2016, smartphones 67% of global phone sales part, at least according to these figures.
In Belgium are currently 3 in 10 phones sold smartphones, says market research firm GfK based on recent figures.
